Images from the Typeface film website…

I just posted about the new typographically-centered documentary, Typeface, over on my other blog, PauvrePlume. The tagline to the film will reel you in immediately:

Charting the intersection of rural America and contemporary graphic design.

See? Yeah, you know you want it. So head over to my other blog for more info on the film and its focus, and look below for a bunch of lovely images and film poster designs, all borrowed from the film’s official website.

Just looking at them makes me want to cry in my pillow that I can’t make the Portland premiere on Thursday night. GRR!

Kit Kat bar, I love you.

I’ve been feeding a Kit Kat addiction for the better part of the summer. Wait, is it technically no longer summer? Crap. My addiction may be bi-seasonal. In any event, it’s led me on a search for vintage Kit Kat wrappers. (Don’t judge me.) And my vintage Kit Kat search has led to a Pandora’s box of vintage candy fantasticness: vintage wrappers, boxes, advertisements… all that I and my Kit Kat could ever hope for.

Many thanks to Jason Liebig’s Candy & Snacks Flickr set, which is where I found these little confectionary lovelies:

Embossed Danish Blocks

Those Danish are so stylish and savvy! Not only do they believe in ABCs as the building blocks (heh heh) of education, but they also recognize a fabulous computation opportunity when they see one.

PaperCut_DanishBlocks1

Blocks with division signs and zeroes with lines through them? Yes, please! Plus, vividly colored blocks are just fun, whether they make mathematical and linguistic sense or not. Build a bridge! Make a pyramid! T ÷ 2 = skunk? Sure! Butterfly is greater than 9? You betcha! Just build, create, and enjoy.

Thanks to Feterie’s Paper Cuts blog (a lovely new find!) for introducing me! You can also follow Feterie on Twitter HERE.

French Friday: Bord de Scène

Honestly, I’m not even sure how I came across Bord de Scène. It was one of those mysterious blog-links-to-blog-links-to-blog-ad infinitum types of experiences. But the important thing is that I found it. And it rules. And I bet you’ll think it rules, too. Here’s why…

Throwback Thursday: Appreciation of the Cassette Tape

It looks like the images from this Flickr set made the rounds back in February, but apparently I’m a little slow on the uptake. So, just in case some of you also haven’t had the opportunity to partake in the fabulosity of these vintage cassette inserts, please allow me:

Wordshop Wednesday: Regional Assembly of Text

I’m starting to think that I need to move to Vancouver, B.C.. Seriously. If I hear of ONE MORE awesome design/stationery/type shop located in Vancouver, I’m going to pack up my belongings and head Northwest.

Here’s why: The Regional Assembly of Text, built and created by Rebecca Dolen & Brandy Fedoruk, who also designed every freakin’ awesome thing in the shop. Unbelievable.

I want it all.

But I especially want these little treasures (all photos from Regional Assembly of Text’s online store):

Fabric Cuffs and Stitched Type from Ponder & Stitch

Thanks to the always-wonderful Xenia from Found Paper Co. for introducing me to these lovely little fabric cuffs from Ponder & Stitch earlier today. I am in love with the postcard cuffs, but absolutely ALL of them are adorable and beautifully crafted. The stitched type especially inspires me, and serves as a lovely postscript to my Stitched Type post earlier this year.

Check them out, please:
