Get organized.

A new semester starts tomorrow for me. I wish I had these awesome items from Present Correct to help me get organized:

In the time it just took me to create this post, I probably could have been prepping my first class tomorrow. But this is so much prettier.

🙂

I’m a Perpetual Kid.

M y mother has a huge stack of magazines that I’m fairly certain she rarely (if ever) looks through. She’s got more important things going on (um, her husband’s cancer for one), so I get it. But those d@mn magazines glare at me from their antique bin, whispering and mumbling until I pay them some attention. And so I do. And then I pretty quickly learn why they were beckoning me: amazing finds like these…

Matchbook notepads from Pearl River (image from HERE):

Next up, letter magnets from Cupcakes & Cartwheels that would look awesome on my fridge and metal filing cabinets (image once again from  HERE):

And now, several pleasurable items from a store called Perpetual Kid, which I’d never heard of before. Now I will never forget it. Check out what little tokens of awesomeness they have to offer:

{ Uber awesome tissues! }

{ Awesome BINGO games! }

{ Awesome clocks! }

{ Awesome books & notepads! }

I think I would give out roughly 519.2 of those Cell Citations on a daily basis. Give or take.

Anyway, my point is that this store is fabulous, AND they’re having an amazing clearance sale right now. Go forth and channel your Perpetual Kid HERE. And follow them on Twitter HERE.

New to my shop: Eight Nights of Hanukkah Paper Clips Journal!

As I’ve posted about previously, I created a Holiday Paper Clips Journal to sell in my Etsy shop. But… let’s call a spade a spade: it’s a Christmas journal. It’s chock-full of reds and greens and Christmas trees and vintage Christmas papers and… it’s a Christmas Journal. And so I started feeling lame and awful because I have a ton of Jewish friends who, clearly, wouldn’t really benefit much from Christmas-themed papers. Not that they don’t appreciate awesome papers, but… you know.

Sooooo… I was inspired to create a Hanukkah journal, which I’ve dubbed my Eight Nights of Hanukkah Paper Clips Journal. Rather than reds and greens, there are blues and silvers and gold menorahs and stars of David and historical pages about Hanukkah and Hanukkah activity pages for kids and stickers and usable gift tags. Oh, and did I mention that I’ve included 8 dividers with silver number stickers to signal the eight glorious days and nights of the Festival of Lights? Great for keeping track of ideas, memories, gifts, recipes… or to use the papers for scrapbooking and collage projects. The majority of the pages are sized to a convenient 4″x6″ and there’s a mix of vintage and modern pages (just like my Christmas journal).

I’m pretty proud of it. Know anyone who might like one? Click HERE for additional images and ordering details.

Some images:

Doodle-doodle-dee: sketchbook scribblings.

Some images from the Creative Journal that I started last year. My original goal was to take Paper Source’s slogan literally and “do something creative everyday” (I got the journal from Paper Source). Umm, it didn’t actually end up working. So, some days I’d fill a bunch of pages and hope that it made up for the days of extreme void.

What these pages primarily reveal is my obsession with decorative letters. And with some anny-mals. Some pages are merely exercises: trying to capture line and ornamentation design techniques, trying to capture lettering styles offered in the variety of calligraphy/hand type books that I own, etc.

Just begging to be journal-fied…

Holiday Items!

For some reason, I have only just now discovered how to make photo collages (via Picasa). I feel extremely slow. This whole time, I’ve felt like I’ve been uninvited to some exclusive photography party. Anyway, I’m excited. So, I just made a few collages of pages from my newly listed Holiday Paper Clips Journal on Etsy. I had way too much fun making this, and I’d love to have a ton of fun making more, so please order!

Lots of pages to keep track of gifts you’re giving, gifts you want to receive, gifts that totally elude you…whatever! And I make sure to include lots of usable gift tags, decorative pages, stickers, envelopes, and some vintage items too (including an addressed/stamped Christmas postcard from the 1910s! I have a handful of them, and they’re so fun to look at!).

Each holiday journal will also include one of my hand-sewn, hand-stamped “fa la la” button gift tags.

Check out my entire collection of holiday items and their descriptions in my Etsy shop HERE. And stay tuned for more! I’m planning on creating a couple kid-centric holiday listings soon…
