Koko – Match Co. pillows

I scored an awesome embroidered pillow on serious clearance at Anthropologie earlier this evening. Highly proud of myself, I came home ready to find a picture to share with you of my brilliant find. But then I found these. And now I kind of can’t stop thinking about them. But I still love my Anthropologie pillow. I will take a picture of it tomorrow.

Until then, please enjoy these ridiculously cool (and, thus, quite pricey) rice bag and matchbox pillows from Koko – Match Co., which instantly made me think of Agence Eureka’s Flickr set:

Don’t mess with Smokey

I’m a big anti-forest fire fan. It’s a good thing to be. Plus,  I wouldn’t want to p*ss off Smokey or anything. That guy means business.

The following fetching images are all borrowed from Grickily’s “Cool Old Stuff” Flickr set, which you should really check out, because it’s AWESOME.

I didn’t realize Smokey prayed, but hey, whatever prevents forest fires. Go for it.

Vintage wintery labels, courtesy of Germany & Denmark

I’ve been adapting to life back in my homeland (Ohio) over the past several days, so I had to take a break from blogging, as well as from reading blogs. Which has caused me to experience some serious pangs of withdrawal: cold sweats, twitching… not pretty.

But I’m back. And I now must absolutely share with you a couple of my favorite finds over the past handful of snowy days.

First, I bestow upon you the glory of le ski, vintage German match label style, from the brilliant Agence Eureka:

Next, I offer you the Christmas seal loveliness of Denmark, discovered over at Grain Edit earlier today:

Now you know why I was basically foaming at the freakin’ mouth, itchin’ to post these little bad boys for you. 🙂

Love them.

Enjoy, and I’ll be back before any excessive twitching starts to occur.

Throwback Thursday: Boston matchbook covers

A couple of months ago, I posted some gorgeous images of vintage cover designs from Boston Public Library‘s rare books collection, made available on their beautifully extensive Flickr stream. Now it’s my pleasure to introduce you to some more great finds in the BPL’s Flickr collections: vintage Boston matchbook covers from their Matchcover Collection set:

I’ve lived in Boston for over seven years now, and I have yet to set foot in the BPL. What the hell am I waiting for?!

P.S.: For those of you in/around Boston, on the evening of the 17th, the BPL is presenting “The Great Poe Debate” (re: Edgar Allan Poe’s Boston connections). More info HERE.
